About the event

Our speaker will review the history and origins of the U.S. Coast Guard especially as they relate to Massachusetts and Cape Cod, as well as the history and collection of the Coast Guard Heritage Museum located in the Old U.S. Custom House on Rt 6A in Barnstable Village.  The program will highlight Coast Guard wireless communication history and today’s applications.  Artifacts, such as a WWII era "portable" emergency radio for life rafts, will be demonstrated.
