You will receive frequent updates on events and activities through our Facebook Page, our MarconiGram e-mail notifications, and our semi-annual newsletter Connections. The Marconi-RCA Wireless Museum welcomes over 5,000 visitors annually, and is ranked among the top attractions on Cape Cod. Membership entities you to unlimited admission, and includes a supply of Guest Passes so that your friends and visitors may enjoy it too. The museum is now open year-round, with regularly scheduled hours during the Summer and shoulder seasons, and off-season by prior appointment. The newest exhibits “Celebrating The Centennial / 1919 - The Beginning” in the Wireless History Gallery and ”Smaller, Smarter and Everywhere” in the Wireless Today Gallery intrigue visitors with unexpected information and experiences.
If you have not already visited the museum, we invite you to explore the Exhibit Galleries Overview, and to sample our visitors’ many enthusiastic reviews on TripAdvisor. The museum’s exhibits are continually being improved, with periodic major updates. For example, 2019 brought the first of three historic Centennials critical to the Marconi-RCA site’s history:
• The founding of Radio Corporation of America (RCA) in 1919
• Initial trans-Atlantic operations at the Chathamport receiving station in 1920, and most critically
• Station WCC’s formal conversion to ship-to-shore maritime service in 1921.
These milestones promise to spark a new generation of engaging exhibits, events, print materials and multi-media exploring this unique national treasure.
CMMC’s Youth STEM Education Program complements the museum and fulfills the other component of our Mission. As in prior years, this past summer our professionally-run Summer Science program offered 24 STEM courses and hosted 98 area and visiting students spanning grades K to 11.
During the school year, CMMC conducts STEM classes during evenings, weekends and school breaks. As a Member, your child or grandchild will receive discounted admission to these classes and special education events. And this year, the new Chatham Marconi TechSmart initiative was successfully piloted in local schools. This program will bring rigorous STEM education projects into the 4th grade classroom to supplement existing science curricula.
And as a Member, for a modest fee you may reserve the Education Center for your private events. The venue is a classic, overlooking Ryder’s Cove on the grounds of the Marconi-RCA National Register Historic District, and is a very special benefit of Membership.
